At around 1,400 metres above sea level, the journey passes through natural viewpoints, crosses the higher areas of the mountain and follows landscapes overlooking the Zêzere Glacial Valley, with a privileged perspective of the Cântaros. Along the way, there are stops at iconic places such as Covão d’Ametade, the Chapel of São Lourenço and Poço do Inferno. Poço do Inferno
The first stop is at Poço do Inferno, with its 10-metre waterfall set within a gorge carved by the Ribeira de Leandres. Surrounded by dense forests and imposing rock formations, it is a place of remarkable natural beauty.

Covão d'Ametade

Posto de Vigia de São Lourenço
The São Lourenço Watchtower offers one of the most impressive views over Manteigas and the Zêzere Glacial Valley. During the summer, it is occupied by forest watchmen who protect the slopes and valleys of Serra da Estrela. A place marked by the grandeur of the landscape and a deep connection to the mountains.
Posto de Vigia da Azinha
At the summit of Serra da Azinha, the Watchtower offers wide views over the valley and the Zêzere River. During summer, it is an active monitoring point, essential for area protection and direct connection with nature.
