Start in Manteigas in a 4x4 vehicle towards Vale de Leandres and Poço do Inferno, crossing centuries-old woodland, streams and the slopes of Serra da Estrela. On the way back to Manteigas, continue to São Lourenço to admire, from the viewpoint, the autumn colours of the São Lourenço beech-covered hillside and visit the chapel and lookout post, with views over the town, the Zêzere Glacial Valley and the surrounding mountains.
